Is this flight attendant dressed appropriately to go to work? Apparently not, according to Southwest Airlines. Kyla Ebbert took her case to the court of public opinion by making an exclusive *cough* appearance on the Today show. (MSNBC)
It was a lot more clothing than the 23-year-old college student wears on her job as a Hooters waitress. Her mother, Michele Ebbert, said she would have told her daughter if the outfit was inappropriate. This is too funny for me. A "family airline?" The term family is used in so many contexts that even I don't know what it means anymore. But, you be the judge. I know employers can interpret their company policies however they want. But, for what this person was allegedly wearing above to be a flight attendant? C'mon, gimme a break....
“But her outfit is fine, Michele Ebbert told TODAY co-host Matt Lauer. “She looks like every other college girl in San Diego.”
Not according to a Southwest employee identified only as “Keith,” who approached Ebbert after she had taken her seat on the plane and was listening to the flight attendants go through their pre-departure routine.
“He told me, ‘I’m sorry, but you’re going to have to take a later flight. You’re dressed inappropriately. This is a family airline. You’re dressed too provocative to fly on this flight,’ ” she told Lauer.

I thought flight attendants wore uniforms. Was she off duty?
Though if Southwest has a dress code for employees who fly on their dime (a perk) off the clock, then the airline has a point.
Surely they wouldn't kick a passenger off dressed like that.
She was a passanger. She was just flying back and forth she wasn't working on the airlines or nothing this is just rediculis... the airlines are getting out of control
Personally I feel that everyone needs to start wearing more clothing. What ever happened to modesty? You gotta leave something for real hookers to wear so that you can tell the difference between them and a regular college student.
I have to agree with Awesome Mom. If that girl bends over, we all know what we'll see. Her top is meant to emphasize her bust. And sitting down? She's going to have to work hard for anyone not to see anything then, either.
Any guy looking at her is going to think she is first date, one night stand easy. Maybe she isn't, but she is being naive (her other place of employment suggests otherwise) if she isn't aware of the affect of that outfit on men.
She was just travelling, but aren't there reserved seats for employees? Was she sitting and chatting with the other attendants?
I actually think the young woman should sue the airline. She's a person. She was wearing something revealing yes, but she didn't break any laws with public nudity.
This is a free country I'm told (sorry not from here, but I question this idea of 'freedom' all the time) so with this freedom she can be or do what ever she chooses as long as she's not braking the law.
Leave her be, I hope she sues the airline
I didnt get from the article that she worked for the airlines, but was just traveling. I also got from the article that the reason that the airline employee said something to her was because there was a complaint from another person flying. Personally, I dont like what she had on and I think that too many times people dress for themselves without regard to others that they will be around. We do not live as individuals on this earth-we live in communities and together. I would hope she and her mom do not sue as this country is way too sue happy as it is. I would hope this girl somehow understands why something was said to her. While it might not have been the employee's place to actually say something-If not said by him, it someday might be said by an employeer, a teacher or someone else-and perhaps not said in a very nice way. I also agree-what ever happened to modesty? My thoughts..
Awesome Mom's statement was hilarious. When I read the title of the post "Too Hot to Fly?" and saw the photo - I was going to say she looks "good to go."
Airline employees are supposed to adhere to a dress code (business attire) on or off duty when they fly on their own airline. I don't think the issue is that this woman isn't wearing enough clothing, I think it's that she was not adhering to the dress code. If she had worn a burlap sack, she would also not be adhering to the dress code. The airline employee who kicked her off the flight didn't choose his words well - this is not a question of sexiness, just a simple matter of uniform.
Southwest Airlines once used flight attendants - in hot pants - during the 70s. Now, it tries to play "goodie two shoes" with its customers. We have laws dealing with "indecent exposure." If a passenger is not indecently exposed, then leave them alone. What next in these days of political correctness?
What she was wearing was certainly inappropriate but, is it the pilot's place to put her off the flight for his views?! Most definitely not! I don't think that it's anyone's place to tell her what she can wear on the plane. Shame on them! I wouldn't want her sitting next to my children for sure, but if she's paying for her ticket just as myself, it's not my place!
As an office manager, I have some sympathy with the employer (if she was a SW employee). We instituted a "casual Friday" when our staff ditches their uniforms. Unfortunately, some make selections that are questionable, and I'm faced with the dilemma of criticizing their attire versus abandoning the practice.

I kinda wondering how she was sitting on the plane, were her legs's open or crossed, because if their were open you can see her undies,,maybe Keith can tells that.
