This is definitely not how people wanted this to end up. Jessie Marie Davis, the 9 month pregnant mother from Ohio who has been missing for two weeks, was found in a Cleveland area park along with her unborn daughter. An arrest was also made of Bobby Cutts, her son's father. (Akron Beacon Journal)
Davis, 26, is believed to have been killed sometime between speaking to her mother by phone at 9:20 p.m June 13 and 5 a.m. the next day. What a tragic situation. I have been watching this story closely, because this story is unfolding close to there I live and work. Unfortunately, as in the Laci Peterson case, I don't think we'll ever know the entire and complete truth. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family in a tragedy like this.
Cutts and Davis had a five-year relationship that included his fathering Blake and Davis' unborn daughter. Davis, her mother said, believed Cutts to be single for several years when, in fact, Cutts was married for about a year when he met Davis in 2002 and had two other children.

Oh that is terrible. I also have been following this story. I was surprised about the baby. I was sure her baby was most likely the newborn baby that was put on a doorstep last week. I wish it had been.
Im glad to know that Cutts was arrested. I thought, last week, it sounded like the police were coddling him for awhile, because he was a police officer. This does sound exactly like another Lacie Petterson case.
On another note, Did you read the story I linked to (Friday Fives) about the Doc. who locked his two kids in his car while he went shopping in Lowe's (cincinatti). Last week when it was in the 90s here! Same Doctor that won the "Dr. McDreamy contest last year!
It's a very unfortuante and tragic reminder that violence is a leading killer of pregnant women.
Crazy. I could have sworn that just a few days prior they were saying that the bf wasn't even on their suspect list. Perhaps if he was, she would have been found sooner.
What an awful thing. I thought from the start that's where it would lead. Course it still must be proven in a court of law. (have to throw that disclaimer in)
If you want to read some really good books on profiling. The author and profiler John Douglas has some very interesting books out. "Mind Hunter" was a great book. It was copyrighed in 1995, but the information is still pertinent today. Human nature does not change.
Sad case. I so feel for that sweet little boy, now, without both parents.
I've been watching this as well. It is reminiscent of the Scott Peterson case and strangely like the OJ Simpson case. How tragic for all, especially the two-year-old who had to witness this evil.
Very sad about Jessie Davis and her unborn child. Her mother and sister were unusually guarded about very trivial details about Mr. Cutts and were clearly trying to protect the most likely suspect in their daughter's / sister's abduction and ultimate murder. Why? We are not being told everything. Greta Van Susteren asked the sister if Cutts had been by to visit the 2 year old, the sister responded... "We aren't commenting on that." Strange response for such a trivial question.
Perhaps more is this lesson: "Ladies, when you have a second bastard child with a married man... expect trouble." Sheeze, seems like common sense.

It is easy to see why some of the commenters thought that the police were not considering him a suspect but rest assured they were on to him very early on but needed to have things fall into place so the "system" could work and charge him with evidence in hand. As a side note, I have a relative that went through the police academy with him and said he was a jerk. (I would say that is a bit of an understatement!) Although the department that Cutts is with has had their share of loose cannons and trouble. The whole thing is just horribly sad. I can't quit thinking that this man did this horrible thing in front of his 2, almost 3 year old, then left him alone, waiting for someone to find him..even an animal doesn't do that to their young. What a narcissistic guy!
This is such a horrible thing. I was getting teary watching this play out....I have a 6 month old baby girl. My husband and I were holding her tight watching the announcment of finding the body. Only a monster could take another persons life....but to do this to your own children too...just sick. I hope this dude gets the maximum punishment he can get. How very sad.
To whoever made the comment about having a 2nd "bastard" child, and knowing better. Who are you to cast the 1st stone? My guess is that you are not perfect either....none of us are, and NO ONE deserves what happened Jesse Davis...no matter what you have done.
To who it was making remarks about having Bastard children with married men, for your information, he was not married. The report says he was maried for about the first year they were together, and that she did not know he was married. They have been together for 5 years.
Also, to call a dead child and a 2 yo who witnessed what this child did bastards, takes some kind of nerve!
There are no bastard children, just bastard relationships. Children are born innocent.
I am not blaming Jessie Davis, nor did she and her unborn baby deserve this horrible fate in any fashion. However, Jessie's poor moral behavior and poor life choices did contribute to her death and as such, yes she shares some blame. You lie with dogs, you get fleas. And no, I am not saying blacks are dogs.
This murder has nothing to do with race, and race is in no manner a motivating factor to this murder. It could have been perpetrated by anyone of any race.
However, statistically speaking, Jessie Davis made a very poor choice dating and being impregnated twice by a black man, even worse considering that he was also married. Who knows why a woman who supposedly had it all together decides to date and bear children for a human monster. Please, before anyone freaks out, I realize that Bobby Cutts does not represent all black men by any means and that there are many, many good black men who play by the rules. That said, I present the following statistics. You can either stick your head in the sand and cry racism or you can take a long hard look at statistics and decide to stop tolerating this poor behavior.
MURDER
*Blacks are 6 times more likely than whites to murder.
*The number one killer of African-American women ages 15 to 34 is homicide at the hands of a current or former intimate partner.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
*Overall, African Americans were victimized by intimate partners a significantly higher rates than persons of any other race between 1993 and 1998. Black females experienced intimate partner violence at a rate 35% higher than that of white females, and about 22 times the rate of women of other races. Black males experienced intimate partner violence at a rate about 62% higher than that of white males and about 22 times the rate of men of other races.
OUT OF WEDLOCK BIRTHS
70+ percent of black births are out of wedlock. 23 percent of whites are out of wedlock.
ABORTION
*In 1995, the rate of abortions per thousand women were 31% for black women and 12% for white women.
AIDS
*AIDS rates among black men has doubled in the last 20 years among black men, but did not significantly increase among white men.
Do these statistics mean that black men are less equal than white men? By no means. I firmly believe that God made us all equal, and equally loves us. Does the black community have some serious moral problems? Yes. Does the black community continue to enable these problems by turning a blind eye to these serious problems? In my opinion, yes.
Want to squabble over the validity of my statistics? I’ll gladly back them up. Sadly, even when confronted with actual statistics … some black apologists will dismiss it all as racist, hateful words. To clear the air, let me say that I would vote for a black president and I would marry a black woman with no problem. So, if merely compiling these statistics and presenting them makes me a hateful racist … then so be it.
