Do they know it's christmas

This is the 1984 video of the song by Band Aid. Found it on YouTube. I forgot how many stars (at the time) were on this song. How many can you name? I'm on call this long holiday weekend. So, I'll be around the blogosphere seeing what's going on. Don't forget to put up Mimi's Peace Globe on Sunday. Safe travel to those of you going out on the road, in the sky, or out at sea, or wherever you're at. Happy Holidays!

In looking at the video again, and they probably did this on purpose at the time, but when Sting had his close-up, the line "the bitter sting of tears" came up. Hmmm...

But, I could probably name a bunch of the other artists as well...

Here's something to make y'all feel old. 1993 was when I entered Grade 3. :) I don't remember this video but then that's not saying anything since the backwoods town I lived in had 4 channels on tv and none of them were MTV. :)

Wow-what a blast from the past! I am actually surprised that so many of them are still doing their thing.

This song recently came up in a conversation with my two teenagers. I explained what the song was ...what it was for...and it's significance. Fun that you posted the video, thanks! (I was a mere 18 yrs old at the time of it's release and remember it well. I also still have my 45 vinyl record of it too!)

Dr.A....Just stopping to tell you that I hope you have a really good Christmas. Even though you are on call, maybe things will be slow...

Do you get to go home and spend any time at all with your family?

My favorite part of this video is Dan Ackroyd. Does he sing? Why is he even there?
